Can anyone fundraise with the Honeybee Conservancy?

Of course! We’ve had volunteers of all ages and backgrounds fundraise to save the bees with us. Anyone can help make a difference!

What is a personal fundraising page?

A personal fundraising page is an individual online fundraiser that is connected to our #BeeTheSolution campaign. Throughout your campaign, you can track your progress and easily share your page with a custom URL. All donations are processed online, so you won’t have to gather cash or mail a check, and your supporters will receive their tax receipts via email.

Can I raise more money than my campaign goal?

Of course! There’s no limit to the amount of money you can raise. In fact, if you reach your goal early, challenge yourself to raise more by increasing the goal amount!

What if I don’t reach my campaign goal?

That’s totally okay. At the end of the day, it’s not the numbers we celebrate but the people who join us to save the bees. Every bit of money raised will help us make the world a better place for bees and people alike.

We would like to host a fundraiser for The Honeybee Conservancy as part of our event. Do you provide the volunteers to set up and run the fundraiser?

Usually, those interested in fundraising with us plan and organize the event on their own. Our supporters hold fundraisers and events all around the country, so it would be difficult for us to coordinate volunteers for so many events.

Why do you use WeDidIt?

We prefer using WeDidIt because it simplifies and automates so much of the fundraising process. From gathering cash to mailing tax receipts, fundraisers involve some factors that can take a lot of time. But WeDidIt takes care of most of the hard stuff for both of us. Your supporters can contribute to your fundraiser online, which brings ease to receiving donations from people near and far. And when you’re done fundraising, you won’t have to send anything in the mail. The funds will reach us electronically through WeDidIt.

How do I send in donations if I didn’t use WeDidIt?

If you've received cash donations, you can write a check or money order equal to the cash donations, payable to “The Honeybee Conservancy/SEE”, and send it to:

Please do not send cash in the mail.

What payment processing methods does WeDidIt support?

WeDidIt currently only supports WePay as a payment process. PayPal, for instance, is not accepted.

Can people write checks when they want to donate?

Of course. Just include their check with the one that you create out of the cash donations. Please make sure their checks are payable to “The Honeybee Conservancy/SEE”.

Can I print my own banner or sign using The Honeybee Conservancy logo?

Yes, if you would like to design your own promotional materials, we encourage it!

May I use The Honeybee Conservancy’s logo for fundraising?

Yes, you may use The Honeybee Conservancy logo for fundraising. Please include the following details in all promotional materials for your event: 1.) The Honeybee Conservancy is not an event sponsor, 2.) Funds being raised by this event will benefit The Honeybee Conservancy, and 3.) The portion of donation, event ticket price or proceeds that will be donated to The Honeybee Conservancy.

Will The Honeybee Conservancy provide tax receipts for donations?

Donations through WeDid.It and through The Honeybee Conservancy’s website will automatically receive a tax receipt via email.

Can The Honeybee Conservancy staff speak or volunteer at my event?

Unfortunately, our team and time is too limited to speak or volunteer at fundraising events. We hope to be able to offer this soon in the future.

Can The Honeybee Conservancy provide tax receipts for any in-kind donations I receive for my fundraising event?

We cannot provide acknowledgment for tax purposes for donated goods (e.g. items for auction) or services (e.g. donated advertisements, printing).

Can The Honeybee Conservancy sponsor my event or reimburse me for the cost of holding my fundraising event?

Unfortunately The Honeybee Conservancy cannot sponsor, solicit sponsorship or reimburse expenses for your fundraising event. If you’re planning an event for which you’re seeking financial sponsorship, we love your vision and encourage it! Please just let us know if you recruit underwriters or sponsors, to avoid conflicts with our own solicitation efforts.

Additionally, please include the following details in all promotional materials for your event.

- The Honeybee Conservancy is not an event sponsor.

- Funds being raised by this event will benefit The Honeybee Conservancy.

- The portion of donation, event ticket price or proceeds that will be donated to The Honeybee Conservancy.

Where does my money go when I donate to The Honeybee Conservancy?

Your donations will help us cover the costs of running operations and programs such as Sponsor-A-Hive. You can rest assured that all of the money that you donate is helping us continue making a positive impact in the lives of not only bees, but communities that need local food systems, and educators as well.

Where does my money go when I donate to someone else’s fundraising campaign?

Your donations to a fundraising campaign will support us in the same respect that a direct donation to The Honeybee Conservancy does. It’s a different way to donate, but still to the same great cause.

Are donations to The Honeybee Conservancy tax deductible?

Yes, all donations to The Honeybee Conservancy are tax deductible as long as they are made within the U.S.

Do donors get a receipt for their donation?

Yes. When donating to a campaign on WeDidIt, you should receive a tax receipt via email within 24 hours - make sure your email address is correctly written!

Why did my payment get rejected?

Sometimes our payment processor may reject legitimate payments. We recommend contacting your issuing bank to find out why the charge was blocked. If your bank cannot fix the problem, please contact us.

Fundraising Guidelines

Fundraising events and activities must fit the mission and support the image of The Honeybee Conservancy.

The Honeybee Conservancy does not endorse any events that include telemarketing, door knocking, violent or dangerous activities, or the sale or promotion of tobacco products or illegal drugs.

If another organization, in addition to The Honeybee Conservancy, will benefit from the fundraising event, we require notification in advance.

A gift made through fundraising represents a gift to the entire The Honeybee Conservancy mission. We use your gift for the maintenance and operations of programs such as Sponsor a Hive.
