Bee Research

Harry Laidlaw Bee research facility

90% of the world’s nutrition benefits from bee pollination. But honeybees are under tremendous pressure from Colony Collapse Disorder. We support The Harry H. Laidlaw Jr. Honey Bee Research Facility, which conducts cutting‐edge research focusing on honey bee and native bee health, biology and pollination issues. The Laidlaw Research Facility is the largest and most comprehensive state‐supported apiculture facility in North America and the only one in California. East of the Research Facility is the Häagen-Dazs Honey Bee Haven, a half-acre bee friendly garden that is to open to the public.
