Frequently Asked Questions

For Teachers and Students

We’re very excited that you are interested in teaching your students about honeybees. We have several programs and materials popular with teachers.

Grade schools

Our Sponsor-a-Hive Educator’s Kit is downloadable and free. You’ll be asked to provide your contact information so that we can notify you whenever we have new materials (we promise not to to spam you!)

We also have a Lesson Plan library available to you.

Our blog has many resources including how to create a bee garden.  And here is a recent blog post on 21 flowers that attract bees.

We would love to see your student drawings and projects about bees. Please feel free to email us photos or share them with us on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.

High-school and Colleges

If you are a high school or college-level educator, please let us know if you would like to partner on creating materials for your students!  Just email bee@thehoneybeeconservancy.org to connect.

Thanks!

Are you seeking information?

We have a very small staff so we are unable to answer individual questions, though we do have quite a bit of information on our website. Our blog has many resources including how to create a bee garden.  And here is a recent blog post on 21 flowers that attract bees. You also may want to check with your local beekeepers’ association for more information.

For information on a variety of bees, please visit this page on our website: http://thehoneybeeconservancy.org/about-us-2/bees/

We truly appreciate your charitable fundraising efforts on behalf of The Honeybee Conservancy! Due to our small size, we are unable to provide support.

If you would like to make a tax-deductible contribution, can donate on our website. Any donation made would support our programs including Sponsor-A-Hive, which places bee homes in communities with limited access to fresh food. The bees will increase yield in community and school gardens, providing food to soup kitchens, senior citizen centers, schools, Veterans centers and a myriad of other social service organizations.

Again, thank you so much. And — if you do host a fundraiser on behalf of The Honeybee Conservancy — please send us a photo or two.

We wish you great success! Please also connect with us on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.  Thanks!
